Late Summer and Autumn Events in West Sussex 2015

With a host of excellent 2015 Sussex events from the cultural to the culinary, there are still many reasons to visit West Sussex as we reach the end of the summer holidays. The classic car showdown that is the Goodwood Revival might be the headline grabber, but there are many other fantastic festivals and events of all kinds to explore, whether your interests are in food and drink, crafts or visual arts.

We are perfectly located to enjoy some great days out in Sussex at Park House hotel and spa. Here are some key events to look forward to soon in late August and September 2015: new Madhurst logo med

Madhurst Festival (August 22-31 August): Right on our doorstep, this creative arts event is as much a “hands on” affair as a spectator event. You can try your hand at anything from short cooking courses to drawing and craft workshops, while evening sessions have everything from cabaret to live jazz. You’ll also find creative workshops and things to do for kids, while the event concludes with a carnival procession on the 31st (Bank Holiday Monday). See the official Madhurst site for a full line-up of events and ways to get involved.

Ale at Amberley (4-6 Sept): The nostalgic setting of Amberley Museum and Heritage Centre makes a fitting backdrop to this CAMRA-backed event. Craft beer brewing and events in Sussex are thriving at present with the current rise and rise of the craft beer scene. Those who prefer a perry or cider will also find a good drop however,(while) there will also be food, music and all the highlights of the museum. It is also possible to simply pay on the day, although tickets can be found with full details here: http://www.aleatamberley.co.uk/

The Big Nibble/ Horsham District Food and Drink Festival (5 Sept- 4 Oct): A whole raft of exciting food and drink events make up this annual Sussex feast, starting with the event’s curtain raiser “The Big Nibble”. Expect plenty of displays, stalls, cookery demonstrations and much more, with many of the best food producers in Sussex present to offer you the chance to taste, buy and explore the best of the region. Goodwood Revival (11-13 Sept): The annual celebration of classic cars and racing thrills is back with a roar very soon. Tickets for this great racing weekend in Sussex tend to shift as quickly as the cars themselves- although hospitality packages are still available for any visitors who fancy making this a really special experience.

Shipley Autumn Gift Fair (17 Sept): Taking place in the regal surroundings of Knepp Castle, this event represents a wealth of craft, food and artisan goods, with stalls selected for their quality and originality. With an emphasis on the quirky and hand-made, this shopping event is well worth a good browse, especially to find gifts for those fussy friends or family members. You can simply turn up on the day too- and all proceeds will go to St Catherine’s Hospice, an excellent local cause. Click here for full details and times.
