Come and enjoy a wonderfully relaxing Sunday Spa Day (& night) …
We all know that Sunday should be a ‘day of rest’, but in our increasingly busy and crowded lifestyles, how often do we actually stop and do just this? ‘Rarely’, we hear many of you reply, so here’s the perfect excuse to do so. Park House is running a Sunday Spa day and night promotion which includes full use of our PH2O spa and leisure facilities, a 30 minute Refining Back Treatment, overnight accommodation in our best available room, a three course dinner in the restaurant and a full English breakfast the next day and all for just £125pp. A great deal.

Outdoor summer sporting facilities in tip top condition and now available for non-residents to enjoy… we are delighted to announce that all our summer sporting facilities are now open for use and in tip top condition for hotel guests, spa members and non-residents to enjoy. If you are new to Park House or have only visited during the winter months, the hotel has 2 superb grass tennis courts – wonderful to play on and a very rare find these days – bowls and croquet lawns, a 6 hole Par 3 golf course and a putting green. There is also a heated outdoor pool – for hotel guests and spa members only – which is surrounded by terraces with sun loungers and has new tables, high stools, umbrellas, heaters and lights for enjoying drinks and meals al fresco. Any interested non-residents should contact the hotel reception to book a tennis court or round of golf. A “Summer Outdoor Sports Mem- bership” is also available at £50 per month until the end of October and again, all enquiries to the hotel reception.

Our national press friends continue to visit and pay us compliments … and this time it’s the turn of Country Life Magazine… “The Conservatory is a great place for tea, with pretty views out to the gardens … a group of friends had ordered full afternoon tea at the end of the day with a glass of champagne which looked terrific… PH2O was certainly worth an extended visit … and the head massage I had was blissful…” and the Daily Express, “The scent of aromatic oils created the perfect spa ambience… an elegant country house hotel, Park House was built as a traditional farmhouse and oozes soft furnishings, plump sofas and cozy nooks… attention to detail was first-class… the treatment room’s low lighting and the scent of aromatic oils created the perfect spa ambience.

Our Recipe Suggestion from Head Chef, Kyle Coleman, is a Coffee Bean and Chocolate Panna Cotta…

Take the following ingredients:	500ml Double Cream 125ml Milk
75g Caster Sugar 15g Coffee Beans

½ Vanilla Pod split lengthways, seeds scraped out and heat on a low heat until the chocolate has melted.

2 Leaves of Gelatine

Soak in cold water until soft, then squeeze the water out of the gelatine leaves and add to the cream mix. Keep on a low heat until the gelatine has dissolved and then pass through a fine sieve.

Pour the mixture between 5 6oz pudding moulds and leave to cool. Place them in the fridge until set – ideally overnight.

To serve, turn out the Panna cotta onto a plate and sprinkle with chocolate shavings.

A new season is underway in the Kitchen Garden… in spite of the cool and wet weather recently, we are already enjoying our rhubarb and ruby chard crops, whilst the broad beans and lettuces are growing nicely and we are hoping to incorporate even more home-grown produce in our menus this summer.

The busy Sussex season is now underway, so come and stay at Park House to enjoy it… suddenly the season is upon us and there’s polo at Cowdray Park, horse racing and motor sport events at Goodwood, wonderful theatre at the Chichester Festival Theatre which is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, an assortment of themed events at local National Trust properties and a myriad of other events at local attractions such as West Dean Gardens, the Weald & Downland Open Air Museum, Tangmere Military Aviation Museum, Parham House & Gardens, Arundel Castle, Pallant House Gallery and Cass Sculpture Foundation.

Our local Sussex ETC Magazine had a thoroughly enjoyable visit…commenting that “despite the hotel’s intimate size it packs a punch with its spa. Offering a vast array of treatments and luxurious facilities which combine to create a haven you would normally expect to drive for hours to reach”… she went on to experience the ‘indulgent Montezuma’s Chocolate Body Sensation’… and comments that “luckily you are treated to complimentary truffles and hot chocolate afterwards to help cure the cravings which come from such a tasty treatment but the real delight is how soft your skin feels afterwards …”
Members’ evening with local charity, Canine Partners…we recently held a very enjoyable Members’ evening with our locally-based charity for the year, Canine Partners. Over 60 members and guests attended the evening and enjoyed canapés and drinks whilst hearing about the wonderful work this charity does from their CEO, Andy Cook. Andy was joined by Jonathan Flint and his canine partner, Varick, and three other dogs who demonstrated their amazing skills to the assembled guests. We are also delighted to report that the evening raised over £175 for the charity and ‘pledges of help’ were also made. For more information, please visit www.caninepartners.org.uk.
